    Dishwasher won't spray or drain
I just moved into a house with an existing Magic Chef dishwasher. (model #du75ca) I'm not sure how old it is, but I can't find any info on this specific model. It fills, but it doesn't drain and the spray arm doesn't spin. It wasn't too gross to begin with, but I gave it a good cleaning just in case. I couldn't find anything blocking or clogging either the drain or the spray arm. There's no air gap so I stuck the hose up to the underside of the sink. Nothing has helped and I'm out of ideas. It hums and clicks like the motor is working, and if the pump is the problem wouldn't it not fill? The house was a foreclosure that sat vacant for almost a year, but the water was turned off even before the place was winterized. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the pump motor is stuck. Magic Cehf does not make its own products. Looks like it is a Whirlpool.

Here is break down page. You might need the last digits added to your model number.

Note: Usually when a DW is old or of unknown quality/condition it is better off to replace it unless you can get it working cheap since the other parts are sure to fail in short order.

I agree with hvac. Take a flashlight and try to see if there is any indication that the motor is actually spinning when you have it in the run or pump out cycle. I believe that dishwashers automatically leave a small amount of water in them after completing the cycle, after an extended period this may have worked its way down to the bearings of the motor causing it to 'freeze up'. It doesn't use the motor or pump to fill, that is handled by a solenoid and controlled by a float assembly.
