    I know what you mean about being too wordy and supplying too much detail! Perhaps if you posted something in the Writing forum topic area of this site with details about an essay that you're trying to write or have written, it would be good to help this site and you'll be likely to get more ideas there, because you're question is not so much about teens but about writing essays.
