    I need to know who sings this song its blue grass
    Iknow the lyrics to this bluegrass song but I don't know who sings it the lyrics are I watched the front gates slowly open on that slate rock federal prison and I stepped into a world both old and new I was 18 when they put me hear and I'm finally free after 30 years they stole my youth for something I didn't do as I walk down that gravel road that I played on many years ago I hear someone call my name and I haven't seen mama in years lord I wonder if she'll even know my face as I approach I see her cane and suddenly I realize she blind but she says your footsteps still sound the same and I haven'tseen mama in years
