    Stolen Purse
Hello I wanted to ask a question thanks for any help you might be able to give.. I worked at a store, when I was at a register a lady had brought a purse up to me and told me she found it in the bathroom she said the stuff in it was lying on the floor she said she picked it back up and put it back in the purse I then put the purse down at my register where no one could see it I was busy and I didn't have time to find a name right then... well I was looking for a name and I didn't find one.. then my manager ask me if I had found a purse I said a lady brought it to me and it was by my register. I then told my boss that I did go through the purse to try and find a name I just went through it quickly I didn't find one. But then they flipped cause I didn't follow procedures correctly and I told them I didn't know them I just followed what I did when I worked at every other store and then they made me feel stupid so I quit. Now the cops want to talk to me 3 months later I barely remember what happened I don't know why they want to talk to me and why they waited so long... can anyone tell me what they may want from me 3 months later?

If the Police are involved someone has made an accusation that something was stolen. Perhaps it was a credit card and it was recently used. Perhaps a check. No way to know.

My husband's credit card was stolen and I never realized it because it wasn't used for almost five months.

The fact that you quit makes you look guilty to some degree.

At any rate, the Police aren't going to talk to you for your good so I would suggest an Attorney or not talking to them.

    Hello c:

It doesn't matter that they waited 3 months. But, as Judy said, they're not interested in talking to you in order to HELP you... Cops don't help people. Cops BUST people. They probably want you to confess and make their work easier...

However, you aren't LEGALLY required to talk to them, so I wouldn't. If you think that meeting with them will make this go away, and that they'll believe you, you'd be WRONG.

There was a very similar post about 2 month ago, about the purse and the store, but not about the police being called. I could not find it under your user name, did you post this same issue a few months ago??

But you can either talk to them, or refuse to talk to them that is your legal choice. Or you can have an attorney with you when you talkto them..

Most likely someone is claiming that something is missing from the pruse, or someone used a credit card from it.
