Then He Decided To Overdose On His Moms Medication. From Then He Was Hospitalized.

No Matter How Manytimes We Tell People There Is Always A Prince Charming/ Or An Angel That Is Waiting Out There Just Trying To Find Them And Will Live Happily Together. When Really After Death Of A Companion They Even Think They Should Die Just To Be With That Person, When Really There Is Much More Aheadof What People Really Expect??

I think people don't realize that they are whole even without someone. They feel alone, worthless, sad, etc. A lot of people don't seem to be able to deal with break ups. For everyone it's different. It takes a person who is less than confident and aware of who they are or whatever (even if they just don't care) to not handle break ups well.

Very good points from aqua! I think in some cases it's also a manipulative behaviour. Like, "If you don't take me back I'll kill myself and then you'll be sorry". Either way, it's an immature behaviour and hopefully, with experience, most people will grow out of it. If they don't, they probably need some counseling.

Often such people have issues going far back before being dumped by their latest girlfriend or boyfriend. They may simply be trying to scapegoat them or making them feel guilty. However, a measly breakup is not going to drive a normal person to attempt or commit suicide.

True I know this is about 18 months old but my last girlfriend was and no disrespect to her a nutcase I ended the relationship as she was way too clingy and when I said it was over during the summer holidays I was told by her friends that she cut herself and wants to kill herself so I was real nice to her for the next 3 or so months then she is now going out with one of my friends for 2 years and now he wants to leave her but she said she will kill herself if he leaves her so he won't in fear that she will, what should he do ?

He should make his own decision and do what he wants. Her threats to "kill herself" are manipulations to try to guilt other people into doing what she wants. It's a common ploy used by emotionally unstable people. If he feels that it's in his best interests to leave her, he should, no guilt and no regrets.

It sounds like he has many more issues than the dumping. He needs professional help with depression. I've seen this before. Your questions are those you put to a rationally thinking person. He is not in that place right now if he has tried to kill himself twice. I hope he gets the right kind of help. By the way, I can't believe he was able to bring a knife to school. Was he expelled for that?
