    CA and NY State Taxes
    Hi,

I saw that a few people asked about filing taxes in 2 states, however do I need forms from both those states? I moved from CA to NY. I have 1 W2 from CA but I only worked in CA for onemonth in 2008. I have 2 W2 forms for NY. Do I need to file 1040 EZ forms for both of these states? My income toal is under $65,000. Also, can I file just one form for Federal taxes? Thanks!

You need to file as partial year resident for both CA and NY, so yes - you will have to file forms with both states. As for your federal return - one tax return covers the entire year (the feds don't care what state(s) you live in).
