    usb pendrive write protection
    hi I am using transcend 4gb pendrive its opening but only for reading purpose if I want to change the name of files or I want copy files in to that or delete files from that or try to format it its giving error like write protection error disk is write protected remove it
    I tried out steps like regidit and changing writeprotect value to zero but its not working
    what to do help me

    Download one of the following registry tweaks to enable or disable writing to USB drives.

    Enable USB Write
    http://www.howtogeek.com/wp-content/...leUSBWrite.zip

    Disable USB Write
    http://www.howtogeek.com/wp-content/...leUSBWrite.zip

    Once you use the registry hack, you will have to reboot for the changes to take effect. One should also note that if you are using this trick, you should make sure that the users are not administrators on the computer, because they could easily change this setting back.

    This works on Windows Vista as well.
