Statute of limitations on personal loan
I borrowed 30,000 from a friend in 1996. I paid one large payment of 10,000 in 2002. My friend told me not to worry about the rest and is now deceased. Is there a statute of limitations in Virginia for personal loans in case her family pursues this?

The SOL is 5 years on contracts in VA. So it would appear they can no longer sue you.
