    NEW PUPPY. Need vet advise
I just got a new puppy (peek a poo) he's ten weeks on and we got him from a small breeder. There are no medical records and me and my husband don't exactly know where to start medically. Any answers? Thank you

You want to get him to a good vet (you can probably ask around to find out which vet or vets in your area come highly recommended--a good vet is extraordinarily important). He should be thoroughly checked out and be given his vaccinations (the vet should do bloodwork and check a stool sample, so plan on taking a little baggie of poo with you to the appointment). Ask the vet to advise you on diet and nutrition, exercise routine, etc.

He's still too young, but please plan on getting him neutered once he's old enough. Neutering will drastically cut the risk of his developing certains forms of cancer when he's older.

This is where I'd start. Enjoy!

Contact the breeder, if it's a ligit breeder, not a puppy mill or backyard breeder, then the health records should be available. No legitimate breeder adopts a dog out without at least their first set of shots and first de-worming.

Taking him to the vet is the first step, because he will soon be due for his second set of shots, but you do need to find out if he had first set.

    Good luck and congrats
