    Visa & Passports.
    Hi Everyone,
My name is Debbie and I am not sure that I am in the right area. I would like to know how to obtain a German Passport. I came to Australia on my Mother's Passport, as I was only 12 months old - 50 years ago. I have permanent residency in Australia and would like to travel overseas next year. I have no idea as to where to start.
Do I need to contact Germany and if so where and whom? Can someone please give me the address?
    What paperwork do I need?
I have my German birth Certificate, and certificate of residency. I am married to an Australian. Does that make any difference?
I have been told that I need to apply for a re-entry visa into Australia? Is this correct?
How and where do I go for that if it is correct.
I would appreciate any help with this. :o

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

You need to contact the German Embassy, bring your mom's passport, your birth certificate and other evidences to prove that you have been in Australia during all these years. Here's the details: Deutsche Botschaft Canberra - Passports

Since you are permanent resident in Australia, no re-entry visa needed.
