Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan - Trim Ring
How do you remove the trim ring that covers the screws for the ceiling canopy on a Hampton Bay ceiling fan? They told me to twist it counterclockwise, but I have tried that and it won't budge. I have even put a pipe clamp on it and pounded it with a hammer... nothing. I am getting frustrated. How in the world do you remove this trim ring? Thanks in advance!

It should twist very easily. Are you sure you are twisting the right part?

I see lots of questions about removing the canopy ring. Most say to turn the ring counterclockwise to remove. When I do that, it only loosens slightly, but won't remove. I've tried twisting, pushing up/down, still it only loosens slightly. Any suggestions?
