I somehow managed to contract this. There are only a few raised bumps >15 in my genital area. The thing is... I have had no sexual contact with anyone other than my girlfriend. And she doesn't have it. I have absolutely NO IDEA how I contracted it in this area. Does anyone know what would have caused it? I got it during my first semester at college living in the dorms. I don't share towels nor clothes with anyone. They just appeared one day out of no where. I have been trying every treatment I can.. and I am getting more and more vigorous with the treatment. I just want to know how the heck I got it. If anyone knows anything it would be greatly GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so very much!

Have you been to the doctor about this? It is a relatively common viral infection in children. However, in adults it may be caused by a compromised immune system.

I have not gone to the doctor about it because from what I have heard they really don't offer any help and tell you it will just go away on its own. I will offer some more background info... I am 20 years old.. when I was at home I had a very strict diet.. when I got to college I pretty much threw it out the window.. I stopped eating regularly.. laid around a lot.. I shower everyday(although I don't remember if I showered after we had sex that time[which I read may be a cause] especially if it is sweaty and such.. I am not trying to be crude in anyway just trying to get out all the facts to cross reference them with things I have read. Also since coming to school I have been beyond stressed/anxious almost all the time.. I have always had an issue with this could that lead to a compromised immune system?

Would it be possible to just contract it after a night of sweaty intercourse.. and then just going to bed without showering?
