    Came home to an orange foreclosure notice
    I returned home today to my rental where I found a bright orange foreclosure notice on my door. I live in Sarasota, Fl. Does anyone know how many days I have to get out? What are my rights??

    You are renting, correct? Your landlord needs that notice, ASAP.

    I cannot give you a timeframe, but it will likely count in months, not weeks or days.

    Hopefully someone will be along soon to give you a better idea of your rights.

    Did the notice have a sale date of the property, foreclosures are going months normally, a person does not pay for 6 to 9 months, before most banks even start. At this point there is most likely a few months. After the property is sold, then the bank or new owner will give you a notice to move out.

    *** there was ( or is) a new law coming out that if this is a "freddie" government loan, that the bank will have to honor the lease if they end up with the property. I have not seen it or read it, but heard about it on the radio a few weeks back.
