The way of test pressure sensor .whether it is good or not
I would like to know the way of testing the pressure sensor( crankcase pressure sensor) being installed in Volvo engine which drive alternator .Because I can't examine whether it is working properly or not.So I think that it is need to test that sensor.

    Thanks!!

Excuse me? A pressure sensor to drive an alternator?
Please, give us more information: year and model, engine option, etc, and your geographic location (could help).

No... This sensor is being used to get crankcase pressure value of the volvo engine which drive alternator (I mean gen set).
This gen set often stop showing the crankcase pressure sensor error.
So I unplugged that sensor and run the gen set... It is OK and the gen set does not stop till now. And I think that something is wrong with that sensor and want to test it is working properly or not.But I don't know how to test that sensor. So I ask for help.

    Thanks!!

I have never heard of a crankcase pressure sensor. Do you mean oil pressure sensor?

I haven't heard of a crankcase pressue sensor, either; I'm also wondering what "gen set" means.

Like Captain Rich asked, please give us more information to work with.

I take it he is asking about a Volvo motor driving a very large stationary generator (genset) Something to supply electricity where there is none.

I think that also. I asked to have this moved into Cars and Trucks based on the initial post. Now, maybe it belongs in Electrical and Lighting, who knows.

Most generators. At least the smaller ones, the oil sensor is just a switch. It either has continuity or does not. Can be normally open or closed. Probably closed at low pressure.

If there is a gage involved, it may be a different sensor altogether.

I would not "test the sensor", but rather measure he oil pressure in an independent way by inserting a gage. If the pressure is correct for the engine, replace sensor. If not, troubleshoot.
    (measure and test)

The sensors are cheap, so just replacing it to see if the problem will go away is also an option.
(test by substitution) Sometimes a better test.

What kind of experts are you guys supposed to be. Apparently the so called experts (and I use this term loosely) don't have a clue what there talking about. A person who doesn't know what genset means has obviously never worked on one. Also in some marine applications crank case pressure is definitely measure using a pressure sensor. I don't know if Volvo uses some of this technology in their automotive sector, maybe to meet new emissions. That I don't know but I am not an expert??

I was asking for more information. You're asking for trouble.
Others were offering possible solutions. You... only snide criticism.
I challenge you to site one example where a crank pressure sensor is used to drive any accessory by any name. OP is unclear.

Com'on guys.. I think the guy want to ask about lube oil pressure sensor. U know it is installed after oil filter inside the block, which is also called transducer. Now he is having the problem that when he starts the engine , In transducer due to any mecanical change its in transducer its output resistance is being changed very soon which sends signal to ECU electronic control unit and it reacts as engine has low lube oil pressur so it stops the engine. When he removes the sensor , engine normally runs but actually it is on risk . Because if any time engine has low lube oil pressure then its safety would not operate. Now this guy want to test this sensor , whether it is OK or not.
From my side answer is that first of it is confirmed that sensor is problematic. He shoud just change it. If he want to test its then he should take it out and check the resistance if it is about 5.4 mega ohm then it is Ok . If it is very small then he should replace it.
