Any advantage to paying non-resident NY state tax?
I live in NYC with my mom and just recently secured a job in NYC. I have the option in using my dad's NJ address on my employment records. Is there a huge advantage and savings in doing this, understanding that I will have to pay both NJ state resident income tax and also NY state nonresident income tax as opposed to paying only NY resident state and city income tax if I used my mother's NY address.

You are supposed to file using your legal address. If you don't live in NJ, your main residence is in NY, it's tax fraud, and the other way around.

    Where is your driver's license?

THANK YOU. And I believe this is good as I will be paying NY state and city taxes as a non-NY resident and can use this tax liability to offset my NJ resident income tax?
