Care Provider passed away
Hello All,
The woman that watched my children for me past away in November, I was paying her $100 a week, last year I claimed it on my taxes. How will I go about doing that this year or will I not be able to. I still have her information from before (name, address, ss#). Will H& R block need any additional info from me? Thank you in advance

You still submit the 1099, same as always. "She" will still need to file a tax return.

Ok, thanks. I was curious, what if I did not claim her last year I would not of had her info. How would you go about that, Also not sure who will file for her but should I give the info to her family (Son 21 daughter 16). She did not have anyone else

You would be breaking the law if you paid wages and did not report them - and she would be breaking the law if she received payment and didn't report it. Will anyone realize it? No way to know - but it is breaking the law.
So send the 1099 in care of a family member.

Thank you again for you time and answer, I was saying I would not of had her info if I did not pay her last year. I only have the info because it was on last years return. I meant out of curiosity how would one go about gettting that info if they were in the same situation. Thanks again
