I remember playing Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss and Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds when I was younger.

Any idea how I can revisit these games? I heard that a group of programers were updating it but not sure if that project is still going on.

I doubt the originals will work now.

If you still have the games, pick up an old 486 or Pentium DOS computer somewhere and have at it. The originals may work on today's hardware, but I've typically run into timing or video issues trying to run old games on current hardware. Nothing to lose by trying.

I still have my Ultima series games as well as others from that era. What I can say from the times I have revisited certain games is that the memory of originally playing the game is much fonder than actually replaying the game after experiencing a decade of 3D graphics improvement and getting all the hardware configured properly. Remember spending an afternoon juggling IRQs and I/O addresses to get the bloody sound card to work?

Just found a program called Dosbox which simulates a Dos environment and Ultima Underworld works. Already started playing.
