    Herbst device and MRI
My son needs to have an MRI done on his foot. But when we went to get it done the technician has never seen a herbst so she wasn't sure if she could do it so she didn't. She suggested that I ask his orthodontist, which I did and he wasn't sure either. He said that the herbst is made in a lab and he can see where they get the materials to see if they are MRI compatible or not. He said that he may need to remove the herbst (and possibly the braces) for the test if need be but I hate to go through all of that for a 5 minute test but I would hate the consequences if they are not compatible. It is an open MRI not a tube or anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that the foot is far enough away from the mouth that it wouldn't interfer. I've never heard anything like this before.
