    Hello c:

You're going to have to tell us the WHOLE story... Because MOST times the "other" owner bought the house from the previous owner, and the title would have been transferred at closing...

But, you've got a roommate or ex or something...

Besides, OWNING a house ain't bad... However, OWING a mortgage on a house that you no longer live in IS BAD.

Is it the mortgage that you're concerned about?? If so, you're NOT going to get your name off. The only way that will happen is if the other owner get his own financing, or he/you sells it.

As a matter of fact, he (?) can sue you for your share.

The person who wants their name off the deed, will have to sign the deed over to the other person,

The mortgage is another issue, the person keeping it, has to re-finace.
