    Origin: Ellery bellery ripty rah
    Hi,

I'm looking for the kids' story (?) origin for this nonsense rhyme, that my father used recite to me back in the 50s:

    "Ellery bellery ripty rah,
    ripty ropty rollah."

Any clues appreciated, as that's all I remember of the story.

That almost sounds like something by Shel Silverstein. Have you checked into some of his children's poems?
