    Refinish wood steps and landing
I want to remove some carpeting from the only place it is in my house, the stairs and a small 7 x 3 landing. I know there are wood floors underneath. Do they make a small sander that I could buy or rent to use to refinish and then poly the areas? Thanks for any advice.

You can rent a small hand-held orbital sander and home depot. But you should probably price out the rental because you could probably buy one for not much more money than a rental would cost. I got a nice rigid orbital sander for $60 at HD. I is very easy to use and move into small spaces. Not sure of the cost to rent one.

    Good luck.
