If I file married but opt
I just previously went to file my taxes and was told I had to file married. But my husband pays child support. I was told even though he is paying it now, he is still in the rear. He does not work and has diabeties, she has filed for an increase. What can I do and not be responsible for something I had nothing to do with?

What your going to have to do is after you file your taxes ( joint ) then if they intercept the tax refund ( assuming there is one ) your going to have to file a form called injured spouse. And your portion of the refund would be returned to you. As far as him filing with the court for child support purposes then his W2 and a copy of the tax return should be OK. That way they can calculate it on his money alone.
