PC plays cd's but no other sound.
    Hi,
I have installed my speakers on a new PC. I have sound for cd playing but not for video or utube etc. I have checked device manager and there are no yellow question marks.
    Any ideas.

give this a shot - start, run, regedit and go to

    Quote:

    My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Win dows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

And then on the right pane, right click and click on New, select String value, enter "wavemapper" (without quots of course), ENTER, type "msacm32.drv", ENTER.
Now close regedit and see if sound works on net

This may be as simple(!) as double clicking your volume icon in the system tray. This usually brings up a control with several sliders, for WAV, CD, MIC, etc. Check that the volume is on for each slider. Hope that helps!
