    Trane Electric Heater Furnace
I have a Trane Electric furnace that I am having problems with. The furnace continues to smell like wires burning and goes on and off. I have checked the furnace and nothing seems to be burning. The heat system out doors appears to be working fine. What could cause the furnace blower not to work and smell like melted plastic.

If the blower isn't running then the system is overheating, which explains the burning odor. I would advise you to turn the system off or risk further damage, and call in a pro. Likely a failed motor.
