Installing 7 wire thermostat with only 6 slots.
OK I'm trying to install a hunter model 44155c in my home.the problem is that the wires coming from the wall are 7 strong and the new thermostat has on 6 spots for wires and the colors or lettering are not the same.so how do I determine which wire goes where without burning my house down and not shorting out the new thermostat.the instruction sheet shows a guild for 2-3-4-5 wire or single stage installation but no 7 wire... help please

This might not work. If you still have the old thermostat, do you remember how it was wired? If so, post terminal letters with previous wire colors.

    Take the Hunter back.

Before you do so we can tell you what you need, post the terminals of the old stat and the wire colors they are connected to on the old stat.

The new t-stat you purchased isn't compatible with your system. Get one for 2-stage heat pump system.
