    Harbor Breeze Downlight Issue
I wish I had read the FAQ on forum before buying my Harbor Breeze fans. I grew up with Hunter but liked the style of the Harbor Breezes and assumed the quality would be good enough.

We have two Harbor Breeze fans with the same problem. Both are remote-only fans, and both have the separate uplight and downlight option. The downlight on both fans has ceased working. I am aware of the dimmer functionality and that is not the problem. The downlight will not come on no matter how long I hold the button down. Every other control on both fans works fine (uplight, fans speed, reverse, etc.) The downlights haven't worked since about two months after installation, which was three years ago.

The only strange issue is that the downlight will come on during/after a power surge or interruption due to lightning storms. Once it is turned off though, it won't come back.

Should I call Litex and attempt to obtain replacement receivers? The dip-switches cannot be the issue since the remote still controls everything else. Is it difficult to locate the receivers in these fans and replace them?

    Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it's not the bulbs?

If it were the bulbs they wouldn't come on periodically after lightning storms, right?

    I missed that part.

Definitely a receiver issue. VERY strange.
