    Blower motor buzzing
When I turn on the fan from my thermostat the blower motor makes a buzzing sound, but no air comes out. Is the motor bad or is it a relay, capacitor or something else?

No, it just buzzes. It just started (or I just noticed it doing it today). I turned off the heat and then tried turning the fan on manually. It buzzes and sounds like it's going to start spinning, but doesn't. I let it set for about 30 minutes and turned on the fan, it buzzed for a little while, then started blowing with no buzz. I then switched the heat/ac switch to heat and it worked. This is an all electric system if that helps.

It could be the blower motor run capacitor or the blower motor is getting tired and will need to be replaced.

Hvac nailed it. See if you can give the blower wheel a push start. If it takes off with a little help from you, then check capacitor. If capacitor is good, then you will need to replace motor. Please let us know if you need help locating capacitor, and how to test. You will need a multi meter to test. Or you can just take the capacitor to an electrical contractor and they will most likely test it for free.

Thanks for all the help. I broke down and called a local shop that was recommended to me by a friend. The repair guy said it was the motor. He showed me the old one when he pulled it out and it appeared to me that the bearings were just about gone, plus the last time it was inspected was 1972 (we just moved in about a year ago). The new one start up really quite and runs probably 4 times as strong. The old one didn't really blow all that hard and was noisy. Again thanks for all the advice.
