Easy/Effective System for Potty Training Puppies
I'm new at being a puppy owner and I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the thought of how to potty train my new bundle of joy. He is 12 weeks old and his former owners gave me some piddle pads for him, however, he doesn't seem to realize what they are for. He has not eliminated on them at all. In fact he had an accident on my bed instead. I've also tried taking him outside but he just wants to play and won't go there either.

What is an easy and effective way to potty train my puppy (I'd rather him go outside)?

The sticky on this forum, written by our dog expert, is very informative and has some great tips on housebreaking your puppy. You may have missed it, so I'm posting the link.

Also, after clicking on our Dog Experts sticky, and reading that, click on one of the links under your question. Cesar Millan's blog is one of them, and there are tips about housebreaking, plus many more that can help with other training techniques for your dog.
