    Computer died and I want the info
    Hello. My computer does not turn on and it is a power supply issue. I need to get the information off that computer and put it on my new one. It mainly is digital pictures that I must retrieve. Please give me detailed steps on hpw to do this. Thanks.

    PS I don't know much about computers, but can follow directions.

    The "simplest" solution would be replacing the defective power supply and then networking the two computers to copy the photos over to the new one. The next would be removing the hard drive from the old computer, installing it as a second drive in the new computer, copying the photos over, and then removing the old drive. A third would be purchasing a USB external enclosure to mount the old hard drive in and connecting it to the new computer and copying the photos over.

    If you have never done anything like this before, step by step instructions that would cover every conceivable possibility you might run into while doing this are not practical. Suggest you take computer to service facility or find a knowledgeable acquaintance.
