Intermittant slow flushing and or clogged toilet
I have 2 bathrooms both toilets intermittantly over flow or have slow flushing. I've adjusted the water level to the maximun level to make sure the bowl fills quickly, but that leads to it over flowing at times. Sometimes even if a little tp is used it doen't flush until I use a plunger. Any suggestions on what I should do 1st ?

How old are toilets? How is the quality of your water? Toilets may just need a good cleaning. Do you have any problems with other fixtures draining? Try cleaning rim holes with a metal clothes hanger. Please give us some more info and we will try help.
One other thought. Do you have children that like to put things in the toilet that don't belong there. May need to auger toilet with an actual closet auger.

The toilets were installed in 1987. Haven't tried to clear flush holes or siphon hole as of yet, but they look o.k. Other than normal calcium build up, water seems fine. I read about using muriatic acid to cleanse the holes. I think I will try that, if that doesn't work I may pull the fixture and check the wax seal. Possibly interfering with water flow?

Careful with that acid. Very dangerous. I had a buddy call me and ask me if he should use acid to unclog toilet, I told him no, that I would come up and check it out for him. When I got to his house he was just getting into his vehicle to go to the emergency room with acid burns all over his hands and arms. Your choice, but just be extremely careful, and make sure you have adiquate ventilation also.

Here is a test you can try to see if something is stuck in the bowl of your commode.
Use a handfull of toilet paper and make a firm ball out of it, something just smaller than a tennis ball. Now take the lid off the tank in case you have to stop the water from going out of the tank as you flush it iand water starts to rise to high in the bowl, now put the paper down into the beginning of the trap of the commode and flush the commode, watch the water rise in the bowl, do not let it overflow, if it gets near push the flush ball or flapper back into place to stop the water. The water will rise in the bowl but when the paper gets wet it should then go through the commode with a gush. That means that the bowl is probably clear of any obstruction, if it does not flush that means there might be an obstruction in the bowl.
After you have done this now use just a couple of sheets of paper, drop them in the bowl and flush, it the water swirls around in a circle but does not ever really flush that probably means that your bowl needs cleaning. They can be cleaned with muratic acid, but I would recommend that you have someone that is expierenced with the acid to do that.
