Replacing a toilet flange in a concrete floor.
Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with a bathroom issue. I recently decided to remodel our downstairs bathroom which is the original bathroom in our house (about 40 years old). When I got to taking the toilet out, I noticed that the flange was completely rusted and had fallen apart but there are pieces still attached in the concrete (it is in a basement concrete floor, not a subfloor). How do I go about removing the old flange and replacing it with a new one? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I gently pop/ clean up those pieces/break the flare part off and pipe should be flushed to the floor for this to work right. Get a "flange repair" 2 half moons rings just like the old flange and tap con that down in the same positions as the old. You can spin them a little to get away from a ruff spot. If you need a little mortar to shim flush to floor and then go over with flange repair kit. Big box store should have the kit |

I've got a 4" cast iron waste line with a slab floor. The pipe is 2 1/4" below the floor surface. The replacement flanges I have found are only 3" long. Is this 3/4" enough for a good seal? Does anyone know if there are longer replacement flanges out there? Thanks
