    Garbage Disposal
I seem to have left my disposal on all night because the switch was in the on position when I woke up the next morning. Now it won't turn on at all? Did I burn the motor up in it?? Need some help to get it working again...

I bet the motor is burned up but you might look on the unit to see if there is a reset button. Usually on the bottom or lower side.

There should be a little red reset switch under the disposer. Press that switch and see.

If that doesn't work, check for voltage at the disposer, and if voltage is present, it'd probably be easier just to replace the disposer.

If you don't have voltage, then just check the breaker, switch etc...

FYI I've always been told not to run a disposer "dry". That there should always be water flowing through it. I normally only run mine when draining the sink.

Sorry Hvac1000, didn't mean to duplicate what you said. You and I posted only 2 minutes apart.

My disposal has always worked just fine, but today it's sending water back up into the sink after it's gone down once the switch is turned off? A clog? Does this necessarily mean a plumbing call?
