    Giving Legal Rights
    Hi,

Im in a situation that Im unable to pay legal attorneies and I was wondering if I gave up my rights as a mother would I still have to pay child support? I have been though so much with the child's father with custody and child support I did not ask him for anything but now I'm tooken to court for child which Im unable to pay because I don't have the money and Im barely eating everday, and its him and his wife income including now mind because he will not let me see her and will not give me custody , how can I fight this? Right now Im at the point were I would like to give my rights up because her father is anal and I don't cause him any grief what so ever, and I don't want to deal with him at ALL, but I want my child and I'm ready to just run with her at this point and he can still have the 147 every two weeks?? I need help really bad... TY.

If the husband is re-married, and the new wife wants to adopt, then you can sign over rights and not owe future child support.

Child support should be a percent of your income, with a min amount in some states. In GA for example for one child it is 17 percent of the gross pay.

If you scan some of the hundreds of threads in this forum that deal with this issue you will learn that courts rarely grant TPRs. So the likelihood of you getting your rights terminated is extremely small. TPRs are never granted just to let a parent out of paying support. So even if you m,anaged to get one, you would still be liable for support.
