    Voluntary Termination of Parental Rights
Can a father voluntarily give up parental rights and how would he do so? The custodial parent constantly harasses the father and his wife to the point where her lies may cause him to lose his job and his family to suffer. This father has always supported his daughter financially and with his time; however, the mother (high school girlfriend) has always created drama at most times to the detriment of the child.

As long as he supports the child in accordance with the instructions of the Court he can not see the child, hang up the phone when the mother calls, whatever else it takes.

If the mother is harming the child, then the father needs to go back to Court and protect the child by having custody changed from the mother to him. He, of course, would have to prove that she's a danger to the child.

But, no, the father can't give up parental rights. As I said - he can support the child and leave it there if that's what he wants to do.

Has the mother always been "dramatic" or is this a recent development, since the child was born?
