    Flushed away
I accidentally flushed a pair of toddler underpants down the toilet. I am on a septic system. Do I need to do anything about this? The toilet seems to flush just fine.

Chances are the underpants went on through if you haven't backed up yet. If everything in the house is draining normally then just watch it for a few days. My gut feeling on this is that the under pants are now in the septic tank. I think you lucked out! Regards and thank you for rating my answer. Tom

I agree with Tom. Ovr a long period the same thing will happen to the pants as most of the other stuff in there, it degrads to nearly nothing. Next time you pump pout your tank the debris will be gone for good. Pump the tank every 5-10 years.

All you can do is wait and hope for the best. If in the near future your toilet backs up, you have a good idea what is causing it. If all systems drain well, then you are most likely OK. I wouldn't waste money snaking the drain unless you have problems. Just avoid flushing any more toddler underpants. Although with a toddler in the house, there will most likely be many more things in the toilet that shouldn't be.Lol.
