    Starting a Banquet Hall business
    Hello,
My family and I are trying to start a banquet hall business that caters to many events. We have enough money and land for the construction of a new building. What I'm trying to find out is what exactly I can figure in to my start up cost. We want to do full services (catering, décor, music)... now I've "shopped" other banquet halls in the city and I've noticed they have different vendors they work with... how exactly do I go around getting vendors? Also where can I find most of my supplies (kitchen, office, decor) for cheap? Any help would be great thanks :)

You need vendors for your food supplies such as bulk chicken, bulk steaks, bulk roasts. All freezer goods so you can prepared for any order, any amount of people to cater. You will also need a vendor to supply you with fresh goods for salads, greens, etc. Bakery goods. So what you do is go to a butcher and see if he can be your vendor for meat, etc. To a bakery where you can order, say l5 cakes or so.

Depending on how much actual cooking and preparation you want to do, design your kitchen accordingly. I mean, are you going to be a full service catering business ? In that case you would need walk in freezers, grills big enough to accept m any pots and pans at one time. Keep your eye open in your local community papers for auctions that normally carry this type of equipment.

All cities have used kitchen equipment dealers, that have complete supplies, from pots, to stoves, to dish washers, fryers, tables chairs and dishes and more.

Also you will need a licesne and inspection from the health department of your kitchen to open.

As for as vendors, there are many food supply houses, best idea give each a list of possible supplies and get them to give you a bid price for the supplies.
