    Visiting with dog
Ok, well yesterday me and my mom went to town to visit an old neighbour of ours at a nursing home. When I was walking in I noticed a sign that said, all visiting dogs must be on a leash, now some of you might remember, some might not but a few months ago, I was looking into getting my dog trained as a therapy dog however the ressources were unavailable, and so I forgot about it. But now I'm thinking that I will just go and volunteer at this nursing home, as the dog does not need to be certified. So does anyone have any tips for me, this is my first time I think I'll go a few days after x-mas, tips and advice would be appreciated!! :D

Give puppy a bath and clip his/her nails.

Make sure you contact the manager first to arrange a convenient time.

I would also suggest that you make sure your dog doesn't have a problem with wheelchairs or walkers. Some dogs are spooked by people who move with "mechanical" aid.

I've taken my dog to visit seniors and it is a very rewarding experience. I hope you have a great time!

I have never really had him around wheelchairs, but my mom walks with a stick/cane due to her sickness, and he is fine around her.

Just this week, I talked to someone who had his dog "certified" to visit all nursing homes and he said it took all of about 15 minutes.

130 lb German Shepard, imported from Germany.
