    Child support modifications.
Does anyone know what forms to file to have child support reevaluated in Utah?? We can't afford a lawyer and need help with this. Hopefully we can do it ourselves.

    Thanks for the link...
My next hurdle is that human services in Utah says to do a modification until you have been at a job for 12 months (or the new rate of pay anyway) before they will do one.
My husband has been out of work since the end of summer and we have been fortunate enough to be able to qualify for unemployment, but he pays almost $900 each month in child support and we have 3 other kids. His ex gets more money per month for one kid than we have to take care our kids and ourselves at home. I have tried to get a job, but as soon as they see me and know that I am 7 1/2 month pregnant, its all over. We have lost absolutely everything in the last 4 months because they automatically take the support out of his check. Sorry about the tangent, I am just at the point where I feel so helpless and it seems like we have exhausted all options. I welcome any and all suggestions.

He is allowed to file for a modification right away due to change in circumstance. He doesn't have to wait 12 months.

The child for whom support was ordered is pregnant?

Yes, support continues until the legal age in your State or emancipation - or, in some States, graduation from high school.

Or are you saying this has something to do with your pregnancy?

As GV put it - what?

    Sorry, clarification...
I am the one who is pregnant. I mentioned that because it is impossible for me to find a job right now since I am so close to having this baby. (oh yeah, the economy isn't helping much either, HA!)
Also, it is Utah that has told us that they won't do a review until the 12 month mark, so that is why we have to go around them and go directly to the court. Cha-Ching...

This should be combined with your other threads which provide additional, important information.

It's pretty much been asked and answered BUT - you go to Court (don't need the child with you), file for changed circumstances. When the hearing is scheduled you take your proof with you, the other side takes proof, the Judge decides.

Again - covered at length in other posts.

You have confused things by using a different name to post as well as posting under another thread. We have combined the threads, but I want to make sure that we are clear here.

Your husband is required to pay support but is now on unemployment. Since you are also pregnant, you can't contribute income to the household so the support payments are leaving you with very little.

So yes, HE can file for a modification because of an extreme change in circumstances.
