Wiring a 2HP GE electric treadmill motor
I have a GE 2HP 120V electric treadmill motor and it didn't come with any wiring diagram. I want to use it on a variable speed belt drive unit. The motor is a type BD6219 and it has seven wires, one of which is a ground attached to the chassis frame. The other six are all various colors and disappear into the motor. Can someone help me with a diagram or point me to a site that would have it?
    thanks

It's a 3 phase motor and needs a controller to convert from single phase to 3 phase. Probably a standard variable speed drive controller would work.

An ohm meter would help you find the phases but not the direction of the magnetic field.

A model # might be useful too.
