Hampton Bay EC Series Track Lighting System Eating Bulbs
I have a Hampton Bay EC Series Track Lighting System that was installed when my home was built 9 years ago. I notice that I am changing bulbs more frequently than in the past. How can I correct this?

Are you using quality bulbs? That does make a difference. Also, have you always used the correct wattage bulbs? If you used bulbs higher than the max rating for the fixture you WILL ruin things. Also, Hampton Bay is not exactly high on my list of well made fixtures. I've used them, but they are usually pretty cheap. If your sockets are wearing out, that could be some of the problem. If you see dried cracked insulation inside the sockets and the bulbs go in hard, that would be an indication that they have seen better days. Try some bulb base lubricant, but you may have to replace the fixture with something a bit better.
