Can see XP PC from Vista PC, but can't open it.no path found.
    Hello

Two desktops, one XP and one Vista, with same workgroup name(both on same network at home). From XP machine I can see the Vista Public folders and other shared items. From the Vista machine I can see the XP machine (Network and Connections), but when I click on it to open/explore it says cannot connect-path could not be found. Is there some setting I need to set on the XP machine that will allow the Vista machine to access shared folders/items?

    Thanks in advance

A user from your Vista machine will have to be granted access to the files and shares on your XP machine. Go to the Administrators group on your XP machine and open the Administrators group permissions.

If your Vista Machine is named PC2 then add \\PC2\Administrators to the list of the Administrators group permissions and give Full Control.

    Hi Chuck

Tnx. But I could not find the Admin group. I think I should provide additional info. The XP is WinXP Home Edition Service Pack 3. I could not find the Admin group like I can find in an machine(at work) with XP Pro. So, I couldn't do what you instructed. Not sure if it is different for XP Home. I know that XP has to be NTFS file system to network with a Vista machine, which the XP machine is.
