How do I go about trying to get a start up grant for a auto repair shop I am a foreign and domestic specialist 20 years exp but do not have enough capital to get started and hire needed staff.

Are you looking to put it into a economic depressed area, such as a inner city, how many employees, often if you offer to hire enough employees there is money available.

But in general you are not going to find free money ( grants) you need to do a business plan and try and borrow the money from lending sourses.

And start small, you and perhaps your wife in the office, and you open your business, I call on dozens of shops like that every day. Then as busienss improves you grow and expand.

Or you don't hire other mechanics you can even "rent" them bay space or merely pay them a percent of jobs they do, thus no employee expenses.
