    Item dropped in toilet
I dropped my deodorant in the toilet and tried to grab it, but wasn't successful. It went down but I think it's stuck somewhere. The toilet will flush but you can tell there's something in there.

    Hi Lottahugs...

If you reached up with your hand and couldn't retrieve it then next step is to take a metal coat hanger and break it down abit so that you can make it as long as possible and then you will want to bend a small curve in the end of the hanger and send that down the toilet bowl drain.. see if you can reach up and pull deodorant back.

If this doesn't work then it may be best to PULL THE TOILET and see if you can fish deodorant out from that end... either push it through or pull it out from that end.

You may need a closet auger tool if you remove the toilet. It will allow you to push from other end to other end of toilet (see picture)

Try the coat hanger first and let us know what happens... ;)

My favorite trick is to put a fishing treble hook on about 14" of line, hold the line and flush. Now tug on the line, the hook will snag most everything.

    Hi Bob...

Only thing I would add is to have the person add 5 feet of fishing line... JUST IN CASE THEY drop or lose the hook while flushing. May give them 3 seconds to try to catch the line BEFORE it gets away!.

    Great idea!
