I was caught stealing something from walmart, it was under $6. I gave walmart security my social security number,address,phone number and drivers license numer. The police were not called. They said that I would be hearing from their law offices that would be collecting restitution amounts. My question is... what exactly does that mean? Will anything put on my record that any furture employer would be able to see??

if this is your first offence, you should just get a slap on the wrist and made to pay a small fine. Basically don't do it again :P and you should be fine.!

If the police aren't called , nothing will go on a criminal record, therefore no future employees will have any idea. Unless you randomly decide to tell them.
