    Cold air grill return - louver direction
    Does it matter what the angle direction of the louvers are for more efficiency in air flow when the grill is at the top of the wall in a room? Up or Down?

    Cold air return vents are on the floor or near the floor.Cold air is heavier than hot air.

    Hot air vents are up high(mostly) but could be lower.

    The direction of the louvers seems to be a personal preference,considering hot air rises and then upon cooling slowly falls till it is recovered back into the system.

    If the vent is facing upwards,the air is essentially heating more efficiently because it has to pass through the entire room to receive airflow(circulation)

    If it is facing at a downward angle,the hot air will go down,then rise until the air cools and descend back to be recovered again.

    It is a 50-50 concept, personal preference.
