Depends on where you live... sometimes just one parent's consent is enough, sometimes you need both, sometimes you also need a judge's consent. Check out this site, but do keep in mind, just because you CAN do something, doesn't always me that you SHOULD do it. There is so much to consider when contemplating marriage at any age, let alone at 16. Your views and dreams will likely change quite a bit over the next several years and unfortunately there is no guarantee that your partner's will follow the same path.

What's the rush? While some teenage marriages do succeed, they are the exception not the rule. Can you support yourselves? What about finishing school?

Since you already asked, please review your answers do not start identical threads.

Hopefully you need two and won't be able to get them, there is a reason for the law, even if you don't agree.

So I guess your trying to say that your mother approves but your dad doesn't or are you saying her parents approves?

It looks like your going need both parents consent from the site I just read I will check again. Also, her parents can only give their daughter consent not you because your're not their child.

Your dad is right not to want you to married. If your are planning to spend the rest of your life together then waiting 2 years shouldn't be a problem.
