Wiring Schematic for single switch -- multiple lights
I have three light canisters installed in a line. There is a motion sensor switch that services several other lights in this room. Please show me the precise white/black wiring requirements/schematic from this same switch in order to get these three new lights connected properly. Presently I took the white/black 12-2 cable from the switch to the first canister and then came out of that canister with the 12-2 cable to the next canister and then on to the third canister connecting the white /black wires to the appropriate terminals within the canisters. Result: the three canisters light; but they are not very bright AND the first canister is frequently burning out the bulb while the other two have yet to have a burnt out bulb. Thank you, crsras12.

At each fixture, all the blacks, including the input, output and black wire of the fixture get spliced together. All the whites at each fixture, same as the black, get spliced, at each fixture.

The issue may be at the switch. If there is only one cable with a black and white, connected to the switch, there is no feed at this switch, and you cannot power the lights.

How many wires are at the switch?

I understand the wiring for a single switch for a single light but what do I do with multiple lights on the one switch without making the whole circuit run off that switch. There are other outlets that need constant power on the same line as the two lights.
