Heating unit won't come on every time we turn it on.
I have a Day and Night unit that's about a 1979 model the model # is 585A030080YACR the problem is when I turn it on the ignitor sparks but it won't open the pilot gas valve
Other times it works great, not sure if I need a thermostat or ignitor or if it's the gas box
    Please help!

    Thanks ed5612

That unit might have a 3 wire pilot/safety control. They can and do cause problems.

Then check it with a meter to see if it is good or replace it. This is usually the problem but I cannot test it for you,

Heating unit won't turn on in AUTO setting [ 1 Answers ]

My upstairs heat will not turn on in the AUTO setting . I hear the click on the thermostat for it to turn on but the fan will not blow. I can turn it on to "FAN ON" and it will blow but when I change it back to "AUTO" the fan shuts off and won't come on. Any ideas?
