Noma thermostat & a heat pump
I have purchased a programmable noma thermostat to replace the existing one and have a heat pump heating/cooling system. Is the thermostat compatible with the heat pump? I tried to hook it up and it was a no go. Thanks in advance.

Last time I checked there are 1,129 different thermostats available. Since my crystal ball is still in the repair shop I wonder if you would be kind enough to post the EXACT model number since your question was about the thermostat to start with. BTW all thermostats come with a install instructions. If you read those it will probably tell you what you want to know.

Thanks for your reply - didn't realize the abundance of options of thermostats... I have a noma 06010055 programmable thermostat. Unfortunately, it does not specifically say that is/is not compatible with a heat pump set up. Again, thanks in advance.

It says NO to multi stage equipment. Heat pump with a electric inside air handler is 2 stage.
