    Basement floor
My house is about 60 years old. My basement floor is cement and its not level, there are several problems with the floor one is it keeps flaking on parts of the floor and its painted.
My question is what can I use to level the floor with and being that is painted will that cause a problem.

    Well
From my hubby who is a GC. You may have to recast it about 2" above the current flaking cement. Prior to casting the cement, you can nail mesh onto it to create a stronger hold. The Cement must be getting weaker and even if you try to do it piece by piece, it may still flake. This should solve the problem unless you want to remove the old ones and redo the entire basement
